How to calculate FFMI

FFMI = Lean body mass (LBM) / Height (m)²

Lean body mass (LBM) = Body weight (kg) × (1 - body fat percentage)

FFMI calculation example

Weight: 70kg

Body fat percentage: 15%

Height: 175cm (=1.75m)

Lean body mass (LBM) = 70kg × (1 - 15%) = 59.5kg

FFMI = 59.5kg / 1.75m² ≒ 19.4
