compound interest calculation

The Creatinine Clearance Calculation (Ccr Calculation) is a tool that simplifies the calculation of "Creatinine Clearance (Ccr)," a numerical value used to evaluate kidney function. "Creatinine Clearance (Ccr)" is an indicator that measures how efficiently the kidneys remove creatinine, a waste product, from the blood.

How to use

  1. Enter your weight, age, sex, and serum creatinine value.
  2. "Creatinine clearance" and "Severity of renal function" are automatically calculated.

What is creatinine clearance (Ccr: Creatinine Clearance)?

Creatinine clearance calculation is one of the tests to evaluate renal function, and is an index that measures how efficiently the kidneys remove the waste product creatinine from the blood. Creatinine is a metabolic product of muscle and is excreted in urine through the kidneys, so it is used as an index of renal function.

Creatinine clearance is used to estimate the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) of the kidneys, and is important for understanding the health and pathology of kidney function. It is particularly useful for evaluating the progression of chronic kidney disease and adjusting drug dosage.

How to calculate creatinine clearance

Equation for estimating creatinine clearance (Cockcroft-Gault formula)

  • Male (140 - age) x weight / (72 x serum creatinine)
  • Female 0.85 x (140 - age) x weight / (72 x serum creatinine)

However, please note that if you apply this formula to Japanese people, the numbers will be slightly larger.

Creatinine clearance reference value and severity of renal function

  • Normal Creatinine clearance 90mL/min or more
  • Mild renal impairment Creatinine clearance 60-89 mL/min
  • Moderate renal impairment Creatinine clearance 30-59mL/min
  • Severe renal impairment Creatinine clearance 15-29mL/min
  • Renal failure Creatinine clearance <15mL/min
